We collect information you provide when you create an account or use Vently, including your name, date of birth, location, career and education details, and profile photo. We also collect account and device metadata needed for security and service operations.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to verify identity, operate the service, support events and community features, improve product quality, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers that process data on our behalf (such as hosting, analytics, messaging, and infrastructure partners), and where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and platform integrity. Location information, including your approximate or precise location, may be processed by our infrastructure and analytics partners to support the event discovery features of the app.

4. SMS Messaging Privacy

If you opt in to receive text messages from Vently, we use your mobile number and messaging preference to send event, RSVP, account, and support-related SMS messages. Opting into SMS is voluntary and is not required to use Vently or access any of its features. We do not share text messaging consent information with third parties. We may use service providers that help us deliver messages on our behalf, but your SMS consent choice is not sold or shared for third-party marketing.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide Vently services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements. We may retain limited records after account closure where necessary for fraud prevention, audit, and compliance.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your information, subject to applicable law. You may also manage communication preferences and certain permissions through your device and account settings. For SMS, you can reply STOP to opt out and reply HELP for help.

8. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, this section applies to you under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

What we collect
Vently collects identifiers (name, email address, phone number, account credentials), profile information (date of birth, profile photo, career details, education details), location data (approximate and precise geolocation), and device and usage information (device identifiers, operating system, app activity, IP address).

Sensitive personal information
Vently collects two categories of sensitive personal information: precise geolocation and date of birth. We use this information only to operate the Vently app and its features. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

Your rights as a California resident
You have the right to know and access the personal information we hold about you, to request deletion or correction of your information, to limit our use of your sensitive personal information to service-necessary purposes, to opt out of the sharing of your personal information with analytics partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Sale and sharing
Vently does not sell your personal information. Vently may share data with analytics partners for product improvement and app performance purposes. If you wish to opt out of this sharing, contact us at privacy@vently.com.
