We built Vently because we were tired of scrolling.
The big platforms optimized for time-on-app. More feed, more ads, more scrolling alone at home. More knowing about things without actually doing them. Vently was built to do the opposite: pull you off the screen and into a room with people you actually want to be around.
What Vently is
Vently is a location-based social app that turns "I want to do something tonight" into "I have people to do it with." It discovers events happening near you, shows you who else is going, and makes it effortless to join them. Gallery opening in the Mission. Rooftop party in SoMa. Live music in the Tenderloin. Whatever is happening in your city tonight, Vently finds it, and finds the people heading there.
The mission
Modern social platforms have a problem: they keep you online. More scroll, more passive consumption, more sitting at home watching other people live their lives in a feed. The antidote to digital loneliness is not another feed. It is a real plan with real people in the same room. That is what Vently enables.

We started in San Francisco because it is home, and because a city this dense with interesting people and interesting things to do deserved better tools for getting out and meeting them. We are expanding to Los Angeles, New York, Miami, London, and Paris, one city at a time, building the local event layer from the ground up.
